The high glycemic index encourages an increase in the hormone insulin which is known to be able to increase absorption and use of glucose from the bloodstream after eating activities.

This allows the entry of amino acids called tryptophan into the brain. Tryptophan is then converted to serotonin which is often associated with increased drowsiness.

With such a plot, it is not strange if eating activities often cause a feeling of weakness and drowsiness to disrupt activities during the day.

1. Don't skip breakfast

Breakfast should be able to help someone undergo their daily activities. Unfortunately, some people even passed breakfast because they were in a hurry to pursue their morning activities. 2. Avoid fruit juice drinks after lunch

Fruit juice is not as healthy as fruit that is eaten raw. Fruit juice will only give you a lot of sugar but low in fiber and nutrients which will eventually make you weak after eating.

3. Drink coffee as a dessert

Taste the taste of coffee after lunch is one of the best ways to ward off food coma. Because, coffee has properties to increase one's energy level.

Coffee can improve a person's sympathetic nervous system. Fatigue arises when the body lacks focus on the sympathetic nervous system which functions to stimulate the work of organs.

4. Drink plenty of water before eating

Mineral water is one of the most vital needed in life. Mineral water helps the body clear excess glucose in the urine.

Drink a glass of mineral water in 20-30 minutes before you eat lunch.

5. Eat green tea

Not only mineral water, green tea can also help you ward off food coma.

A study published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry in 2005 found that one component in green tea-catechins-not only helps burn fat, but also affects the activity of digestive enzymes that help break down protein in the stomach.

In addition, other studies also say that green tea can suppress hunger and make you eat small amounts in meals afterwards.
