Health Risks Standing Too Long
ANDROCOMVIRAL-Not a few of us who prefer to do something while standing rather than doing while sitting, for example, like eating while standing, chatting while standing, standing when attending a ceremony or it could be just because you want to stand for no reason.

When the body is standing, there can be more body calories burning compared to what happens when done sitting.
But unfortunately not infrequently health problems can occur if the body stands too long, especially if it often occurs for a long time.

In one study it was stated that standing activities carried out at least 5 hours every 24 hours were likely to cause problems in the muscles of the lower limbs.

It could be that this condition if left unchecked will trigger the risk of health problems such as muscle and joint problems, and the risk of back pain.

Health problems that can occur due to too often standing up for long periods of time are back pain and cramps.

Though not a few of us who have to work every day by spending time working while standing, such as factory workers, gas station employees, minimarkets cashiers, and others.

The following are the Health Risks of Standing Too Long including:

1. Varicose veins

Your body will find it easier to feel more tired than sitting, while the overall body weight will be held back by the feet which can lead to the formation of varicose veins and circulatory disorders which if they occur for a long time can cause other more serious health problems, namely heart disease .

2. Weakens the Motor System

Standing for long periods of time can reduce the ability of the body's motor work system where it can cause health problems such as muscle fatigue to stroke.

This problem can occur because nerves and motorbikes do not do good activities as well as when the body is sitting and motor system problems that most often experience problems usually often occur in the body parts of the neck and hands.

3. Limb Disease

Standing in a very long period of time will not only make the body more tired but will also make the overall burden of the body become concentrated on the limbs which consequently will make your legs work heavier than usual and the pressure will make the function weaker leg.
Problems that occur in this leg will cause discomfort in that part and as a result can not function normally.

4. Risk of Heart Disease

Doing activities by standing which if done for a very long time will usually cause interference with the circulatory system.

With pressure on all parts of the body, including the circulatory system and organs, standing for a long time can lead to hypertension.

While hypertension problems that often occur if left unchecked can trigger other problems such as heart disease, where this problem can actually also be caused by sitting for too long.

5. Lower the Immune System

When the body stands for a long time the blood circulation will not run smoothly, so does the body's metabolic system so that this will make the body susceptible to disease.

Thus the habit of standing for too long will reduce your immune system, especially if the body is still experiencing pain, the condition will become more severe.

6. Joint Locking Disease

Some parts of the joints of the body will experience strong pressure if you often stand for too long, especially in the joints of the hip and knee.

When you stand for too long it will make the production of joint lubricants which are tasked with reducing joint movements.

So it's only natural that people who often stand for long periods of time usually tend to experience pain in the joints and pelvis.

7. Risk of Standing Too Long for Pregnant Women

In a study conducted by health experts in the Netherlands where research participants were pregnant women mentioned that standing for a long time during the day could increase the risk of 3% where the head of a baby born will have a smaller head circumference than other babies.

Not only head circumference because babies born to pregnant women who stand too long (3.5 hours per day) have a lighter weight of 140-200 gr when compared with other babies.

Of course, pregnant women who stand too long will usually have blood circulation that is not smooth, including those that go to the uterus where this can interfere with the process of fetal growth in the womb.

Pregnant women who stand up, their blood flow will be fixed on the legs that support all parts of the body even though at the same time the fetus in the womb also needs blood flow as a nutrient and source of oxygen for its growth period.

Mothers who are pregnant are usually prone to pain in the lower back even if they are not standing, so that if they stand for a long time the muscles and joints will work to be heavier than usual and if they occur frequently, the impact will be make pregnant women experience pain in the back and waist.
